UPDATE:
New for 2007 Matt will be piloting the black #90 for Shaw Motorsports this year. Steve and Kim Shaw have put Matt into a Pierce Chassis with Cropper horsepower under the hood. The other Shaw Motorsports Pierce (yellow #90) will be driven by Steve himself. They plan to travel to various tracks throughout the season instead of running for points. Some of the tracks on the schedule will include: Florence, Brown County, Brownstown, Moler, K-C, Lawerenceburg, and some other money shows throughout the year. Matt encourages you to check his website weekly for updates, results, and scheduled events. 3-24-07 Brownstown Speedway, Indiana Matt started his 2007 racing season at Brownstown Indiana. His main goal was to get the car on the track and to work the bugs out. Due to a bad draw he started at the tail of a ten car heat race. He was able to finish fourth which would put him in the show. While grinding tires after the heat Matt cut his left index finger. Matt found himself sitting in the ER the rest of the night and in surgery the next weekend. They repaired a couple of tendons and pinned the finger for six weeks. 4-21-07 Brown County Speedway, Ohio This was the first weekend any racing was going on since the injury due to all the wet/cold weather. Matt decided to brace/duct tape/cushion his finger and give it a shot. He won the first heat and earned to pole for the feature. He was a little nervous about being able to get the job done with one and a half hands but was able to pull a comfortable lead to win his first feature of 07 and he hopes his first of many with Shaw Motorsports. 4-28-07 Brown County Speedway, Ohio Rain out
